JAKARTA - The Arctic Monkeys drummer, Matt Helders, has returned to greet fans through his latest solo project. Not waiting too long, this project called Terrifici immediately released a debut single titled 'WeHo yet?'.

The news about this project has actually been detected since last April, when Helders uploaded a video of himself in the studio working on new material.

Now, the results of the creative process have been shared with fans in a release full of technological elements.

To listen to the single, fans must register on the official Terrifici website. Some fans who have tried, found that site visuals inspired by the 8-bit style allow them to access outspoken song lyrics by including commands/h.

Shortly after the single 'WeHo yet?' was released, listeners immediately speculated that musician Tyler Parkford, also known as a member of the Arctic Monkeys tour, was involved in making the glam rock genre song.

This allegation strengthens because the official Afific account only follows two accounts on social media, namely the Helders account and Parkford's account.

Currently, the details about this project are still very minimal. Their biography on social media only features one mysterious sentence: I got the feeling you re next (I feel you next).

If this project develops into a full album, it will be Matt Helders' next solo release after the DJ mix album shared in 2008. At that time, he remixed songs from The Black Keys, The Stoges, Goblin, Mos Def, and more.

Since 2018, Helders has been hinting at releasing a solo album. In an interview, he expressed his desire to produce a lot of material for the album to really deserve to be released.

"I think I had to do something before I finally deserved it. I didn't want to do it too quickly and then regret it, like 'Oh, I shouldn't have made such a record," said Helders, quoted by NME, Friday, September 26.

"I wanted to make a lot of music and then thought, 'Oh, that's what I love about this'," he added.

In addition to his role as a drummer at the Arctic Monkeys, Matt Helders is known to be active in various other music projects. He was once a member of the band Iggy Pop, Post Pop Depression, with Josh Homme and Dean Fertita from Queens Of The Stone Age.

Helders is also known to often make remixes for songs from The Hives, Duran Duran, Paul Weller, and Roots Manuva. In addition, he has also collaborated with well-known musicians such as Lady Gaga, Toddla T, and The Last Shadow Puppets.

In 2019, he released a retro-futuristic album titled Good Cop Bad Cop with Milburn's vocalist, Joe Carnall. Two years later, he remixed She Drew The Gun's song Behave Myself, and in 2023, he joined Alberttangan Jr on the musician's solo album titled Melodies On Hiatus.
