JAKARTA - The music group from Yogyakarta, the Berduri Lidah Council, announced that it had withdrawn its music catalog from the Spotify digital streaming platform.
In an official statement on Instagram, the group, which was founded in the late 1990s, announced that the withdrawal of the catalog from Spotify had been carried out since Wednesday, September 24.
"As of today, September 24, 2025, we are withdrawing our entire catalog and withdrawing from Spotify," wrote thedah Berduri Assembly.

However, the Berduri Lidah Council did not withdraw their catalogs from other digital streaming platforms, such as Bandcamp, Apple Music, YT Music, YouTube, and TheStoreFront.
"This small step, we believe, is being stalled and stands with you, listeners," he said.
In his explanation, the Berduri Lidah Council mentioned three reasons for this decision, one of which was an allegation for the platform's support for the genocide event in Palestine.
We have considered this choice for a long time. The reason has been undisputed for a long time: (1) This platform is pro-Palestinian genocide, (2) The owner's massive investment in the development of war technology, up to (3) The practice of the Spotify music industry is ceiling and normalizes the neoliberal extractive economy mode," he said.
The steps taken by the Berkuri Lidah Council are not alone. Previously, several groups from abroad also made similar decisions as a form of support for Palestine. They are Massive Attack (trip-hop group from England), King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard (Australian psychedelic rock group), Godspeed You! Black Employers ( Canadian post-rock group), and Deerhoof (US alternative group).
