A$AP Rocky Calls Drake And Kendrick Lamar's Feud Positive Impact On Hip-Hop Music

JAKARTA - Rapper A$AP Rocky argues that the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is a positive and healthy thing for hip-hops.

This statement comes amid ongoing legal conflict between Drake and his label, Universal Music Group (UMG).

In a recent interview with Elle, Rihanna's husband expressed his views, who saw the fight' between rappers was a natural part of the hip-hop music genre.

However, the rapper admitted that he did not like the direction of the feud which now leads to a lawsuit.

The fight, betweenking and Drake, wasn't Drake and everyone who might have said something at the time, and that's the main reason why I stepped down," Rocky said.

"I hate how this leads to (Drake) suing and so on. Which game is it part of? What kind of thing is that? I don't think it's my business," he added.

Although Rocky declared himself "resigning" from a feud, he was indirectly involved. The 36-year-old rapper appeared in Future and Metro Boomin's song "Show of Hands".

The lyrics of the song are considered a satire against Drake, especially in the lyrics that poked fun at the rumors of his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.

For information, Drake's lawsuit is not only targeting UMG. He also filed a motion to get a contract with the label. In addition, Drake also demanded details of the alleged domestic violence claims committed by Lamar.

In this regard, Lucian Grainge as the Chair and CEO of UMG strongly responded to Drake's accusations. In a declaration submitted last August, Grainge called the claim unreasonable, far-fetched, and ridiculous.

Grainge also stressed that UMG has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to support the Canadian musician's career.
