The Rolling Stones Reportedly Almost Completed New Album And Prepared For Tour

JAKARTA - The Rolling Stones are reportedly close to completing their new album, following the success of the album 'Hackney Diamonds' which was released in 2023 and won the Grammys for Best Rock Album category.

Information about the new album Stones was revealed by Marlon Richards, the son of legendary guitarist Keith Richards, in an interview with Record Collector recently.

Marlon Richards, who is also an actor and film producer, stated that Stones is currently in a recording studio in Chiswick, West London.

They are recording. I think they are almost finished. They still maintain unreasonable working hours: after lunch, until, maybe, at two in the morning," Marlon said.

Although it's only been two years since the release of 'Hackney Diamonds', The Rolling Stones doesn't seem to want to waste time. When asked about the project being worked on, Marlon believes that the legendary band is working on an album.

I think an album they have quite a lot left over from the last album. They got the Grammys, so now they're all excited because of that," said Keith Richards' son.

"I think they're working on the follow-up," he added.

It was also mentioned that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, lucky Wood, and Steve Jordan have been together at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick since April and have completed 13 songs. Well-known producer Andrew Watt, who is also working on Hackney Diamonds, is reportedly re-engaged for his next album.

Apart from the new album, Marlon also mentioned speculation about the upcoming tour. "I think they're planning a European tour," he said.

What Marlon said corroborated earlier reports that The Rolling Stones had canceled plans for tours in the UK and Europe due to scheduling issues.

Previously, Jagger and Richards had provided clues about new material. Jagger once told The New York Times that "Hackney Diamonds" was not the last album of The Rolling Stones, as they had about three-quarters of the way to their next album.

Meanwhile, Keith Richards revealed that there was a lot of material left.rocky Wood has also spoken about the songwriting session for 'Hackney Diamonds', which has been recorded for about 23 songs, but only 12 have been selected for release.
