JAKARTA - Candra Darusman introduced a book with the title "Invisible Cycle: Implementing Innovation and Creative Economy" and a new single entitled Salah Sendiri coincide with the celebration of his 67th birthday.

Through the launch event which was held at HighScope Indonesia, South Jakarta on Thursday, August 21, Candra said that the book he wrote with Agung Setiyo Wibowo was specifically intended for the younger generation of Indonesia, especially those born between 1997 2012.

Meanwhile, innovation and creation are the two main concepts introduced in this book. Innovation is described as a process of bringing technological interventions to users, markets, and industries, where strategies are needed that are planned, effective analysis, mapping opportunities, and utilization of forces that are owned and can meet various human needs. Meanwhile, creation is described as a process rooted in the idea and creation of original works of art that have a real impact on improving social life.

The two main concepts are described as invisible wheels, which must continue to rotate so that the nation achieves prosperity.

"And this bicycle can bring Indonesia's struggle to achieve prosperity," Candra said at the launch of the new books and singles.

This book also explains concretely how innovation and creation can encourage economic growth through four strategic steps: creation, protection, marketing, and sales.

Agung Setiyo Wibowo added, the book, which was published by the Indonesian Obor Bistaka Foundation, was written in a communicative and illustrative writing style, not only offering conceptual solutions, but also inviting the younger generation to dare to choose a role in the path of innovation and creation as a real contribution to the nation.

"Personally, collaborating with Om Chandra inspired me as a millennial to try to make the works I produce not only please my ego, but there is also an impact on society, nation and state," said Agung.

In addition, Candra's new single is no less interesting. This song is the result of collaboration with singers from Sri Lanka, something that is not common for Indonesian musicians.

This collaboration began with the joint initiative of the Indonesian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Ibu Dewi Tobing, and the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Indonesia, Prof. Jayanath Colombage.

One day, our Ambassador in Sri Lanka called me, about a year ago. He said that they wanted to establish a music world between Indonesia and Sri Lanka," said Candra.

Singer from Sri Lanka, Umaria, became a friend of the Ikke Nurjanah duet to sing this song. Meanwhile, other musicians who were also involved, including Dwiki Dharmawan (keyboard) and Barry Likumahuwa (bass).

"This song, say, is a cultural exchange between Sri Lanka and Indonesia. And interestingly, Umaria has an ancestor from Indonesia," said Candra.

Through collaboration in the song 'Salah Sendiri', Candra wants to show how art is an innovative creation in diplomacy between countries.

"This collaboration is expected to strengthen cultural exchange and creative diplomacy through music," concluded Candra.
