JAKARTA - Wahana Musik Indonesia (WAMI) stated that it is ready to be audited by the government regarding the management of music royalties. This is in response to the plan of the Ministry of Law to conduct audits of LMK and LMKN in an effort to transparency the public.
"This is one of the terms, the point from us is that we have been audited regularly. However, we are ready because it is okay if we have to be audited," said WAMI President Director Adi Adrian at a press conference, in Jakarta, citing ANTARA on Tuesday 19 August.
Article 1 paragraph 22 of Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright states that LMK is an institution with non-profit legal entities authorized by creators, copyright holders, and/or owners of related rights to manage their economic rights in the form of collecting and distributing royalties.
Adi explained that they routinely conduct audits from external parties as a form of the management's responsibility to the members, in order to ensure accountability and transparency management.
