JAKARTA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon has just come to review the learning process of the Maestro Learning with the Maestro (BBM) program which took place at the Jaya Suprana Institute, Jakarta, Sunday, August 3. He greeted the Keroncong music residence participants who learned directly from the legend of keroncong Tanah Air, Sundari Soekotjo.

Keroncong music is the soul of Indonesia. He was born from acculturation, but grew and developed as belonging to this nation. I myself collect black disks for old keroncong songs, including the instrumental version of Indonesia Raya in 1928," said Fadli Zon in a written broadcast, August 4.

The BBM program opens space and opportunity for the younger generation to learn directly from art maestros. This year, 60 young artists from 189 universities in 31 provinces were selected from 573 registrants. They underwent full residence from July 20 to August 18, 2025.

Apart from keroncong music, this program also features other maestros such as Gus TF Sakai (sastra), Ki Purbo Asmoro (counters), Iman Soleh (teaters), Didik Nini Thowok (tari), and Nasirun (lucis). The participants not only studied art techniques, but also lived with the maestro for three weeks.

The regeneration of connoisseurs, especially art actors, is the hope that is trying to be built through this program.

These young people are bridges. They will inherit not only skills, but also the spirit of the maestros. One day, keroncong can be Indonesia's contribution to world civilization," he said.

During the visit, the Director General of Cultural Protection, Restu Gunawan, Ismunandar Expert Staff, and the host Jaya Suprana were also present.

Fuel is not just an inheritance program. The participants are challenged to produce independent or collaborative works, which will be presented in Panen Karya. It's not just a matter of learning, but creating. The legacy does not stop being inherited it must be revived.
