Matter Mos Shows Romantic Sides Through New Single Written With Jinan Laetitia

JAKARTA - Matter Mos introduced the latest single with the title Rules of Love. This song became special because it was written with his fianc who is also a singer-songwriter, Jinan Laetitia.

Despite still presenting a spiritual pulse, through the Rules of Love, Matter Mos tries to offer a new romantic side of himself.

This personal work was inspired when Jinan gave the book The Forty Rules of Lovekarya Elif Shafak. This book, said Matter, sparked initial ideas which were then outlined in several casual recording sessions.

The experience of writing lyrics with a lover occurs very naturally for the musician from Jakarta. The two of them share an interpretation of love to create a final version that feels the most appropriate to be released.

"Once I got the initial idea for the music, I immediately released the tone and melody while looking at the cover of the book and talking about the book with Jinan," said Matter Mos in his statement, Thursday, July 24.

From there, there appeared variations in the variety of lyrics that continued to evolve every time I and Jinan chatted on FaceTime; I was in front of the laptop, recording ideas while discussing our views on what love is, and Jinan gave input. That's what I continued while back and forth with Greybox.

Meanwhile, Greybox is again trusted to be a producer, who this time transformed the rules of love into bossanova and Arabic pop nuanced songs.

In terms of production, he suddenly had a brilliant idea, so there were bossanova and Arabic styles. And for the feeling of the song, we were inspired a lot by Timbaland's "Timbo Progression," said Matter.

He acknowledged that the influence of Latin and middle eastern music did feel thick in this song. As a final touch, Ano Stevano worked on the mixing and mastering of the song.

In addition to the name mentioned above, the role of the manager, Robin Leembruggen, is no less important. "Robin really believes in this song, he gives extra push so that this song is quickly completed," added Matter Mos.

While preparing to release a full album that continues to explore the roots where he and his ancestors were born and grew, the 'Love Rules' can now be heard on all digital streaming platforms in Indonesia.
