Not Only Supporting Lesti Kejora, Rizky Billar Hopes The Royalty Polemic Ends Well

JAKARTA - Rizky Billar accompanied Lesti Kejora who had to face copyright polemics. He was present in full to support his wife when he was a witness in the judicial review of the Copyright Law at the Constitutional Court, Tuesday, July 22.

In his testimony at the trial, Lesti revealed the problems she faced, where the songwriter Yoni Dores made a police report because the song was performed without permission by the 25-year-old dancer.

After the trial, Billar said that his presence was indeed to support his wife, who had to be involved in the vortex of copyright polemics.

"Yes, of course (wife support)," said Billar.

He hopes that the trial at the Constitutional Court can provide a bright spot for copyright polemics that have been the main focus of the national music industry in recent years.

"It's not just the support of my wife, I also support that the polemic related to this royalties can be resolved properly," he added.

Billar, who is also a producer and wrote a song, realizes the importance of clarifying the rules regarding licensing and royalty distribution. The father of two also hopes that this judicial review trial can be a fair middle ground for all parties.

On the same occasion, Lesti's attorney, Sadrakh Seskoadi, also expressed his hope for the judicial review process proposed by 29 singers who are members of the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION).

According to him, this request is important to clarify the legal position of songwriters and singers, as well as end the conflict.

"Hopefully the ongoing process at the Constitutional Court can clarify the position and position of the creators and singers, so that this conflict can be ended soon," said Sadrakh. We also hope that the legal process that Lesti is currently facing can soon find a bright spot for its resolution.
