How RAN Maintains Relevance With Young Listeners For 19 Years

JAKARTA - The trio RAN, which consists of Rayi, Asta, and Nino, has been exploring the Indonesian music industry for 19 years. Formed in 2006, they released their debut album RAN for Your Life a year later.

Until now, RAN still shows its existence as a group. They are still relevant and are subscribed to major music festivals, let's say the latest is the appearance at BRI Jazz Gunung Series 1 Bromo.

Talking about how RAN maintains his relevance to young listeners who have changed generations, Rayi admits that what he is doing is just trying to make efforts and trying to provide new works.

"Honestly, we also don't know, nothing is certain, just make an effort," said Rayi, met by Ivan Two Putra and Bambang E Ros from VOI before appearing at BRI Jazz Mount Series 1 Bromo at the Java Resort Jiwa Bromo, Probolinggo, Saturday, July 19.

"But we try to always work, bring out new works," continued Rayi.

In addition, Nino added, RAN tries to learn from seniors who have proven to last longer in the music industry.

"In addition to working, we also learn from seniors who have a longer career," said Nino. What we see, what makes them survive is actually just being yourself. Because if you look at the trend, it will always change and we will never know.

For Nino, there is no guarantee that RAN will remain relevant when following a trend that is being loved by young listeners.

Later, what is there is that RAN only fills that trend and is forgotten too. Instead of following the trend, we are better off remaining RAN, who people know who is cheerful and enthusiastic, concluded Nino.
