Makki Ungu: Riders Are Only Complete, Don't Overdo It

JAKARTA - Bassis Ungu, Makki Parikesit, revealed the band's view of the riders who are being discussed as a request from the artist to the event organizers.

Makki said that Ungu views riders as just a complement to the backstage, which should not be applied excessively.

"Riders are actually just complementary, so it's not something that should be exaggerated and exaggerated," Makki said when met in Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 10.

"At the back of the stage, the important thing is that the air conditioner is on, there is a seat, and a place to drink. That's enough. After all, we didn't stay there for long," he added.

Makki said that Ungu's usual request was more of a technical matter on stage, which had an important influence in the performance.

"Sometimes what's more important is the riders who are on the sound system stage, the tools, the cable is right if the riders are backstage, as far as I remember, we don't have a problem," he said.

Therefore, Makki agreed with Ari Lasso's statement on social media, which stated that there was no need to ask for excessive riders, even though it was a musician or band that was currently famous.

"So I agree a little with Lasso. If, for example, the riders are a bit lecherous, why is it causing EO trouble? Later EO will be lazy to use you if the riders are like that," he said.

Makki admitted that he did not know the figure Ari Lasso meant in his upload. However, he felt that what was conveyed was relevant, considering that the organizers had to face other difficulties and challenges.

"I don't know, but to be honest, I heard that there are those who are careless about the riders, that's aji while. But if it is burdensome for EO with economic conditions and all kinds of things, we are partners, EO is working with us too. If they work well, we are also delicious," he concluded.
