JAKARTA - The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenbud) is preparing to hold Culture, Heritage, Arts, Narratives, Diplomacy, and Innovation (CHANDI) Summit 2025 in Bali on 3-5 September.

As part of the preparations, the Ministry of Education and Culture held an Embassy Briefing with the Ambassador and deputy embassy to officially invite friendly countries to join the 2025 CHANDI Summit.

"CHANDI Summit is an initiative to organize an event of activity consisting of several things, including a meeting of leaders from cultural and cultural stakeholders," said Minister of Culture Fadli Zon after Embassy Briefing at the National Museum of Indonesia, Central Jakarta on Friday, July 4.

Fadli said, CHANDI Summit will contain various activities, ranging from exhibitions, performances, and events for each participant to network each other.

"So, this is a kind of world culture forum (world cultural forum), but we name it CHANDI Summit," said Fadli.

Menbud has not been able to confirm which countries will be involved. He is still waiting for answers from invited countries.

"We just launched, we just launched, soon we will get an answer," he said. "Hopefully at the beginning of this month (we have received an answer), because this is still at the beginning of the month. Until the end of the month I think we will get the number of countries participating."

Fadli added, 'Informally, of course, we have also conveyed it in several international forums that we attended, and we have conveyed. And they are also certainly very enthusiastic and will send delegates, representatives, or directly attended by the Minister of Culture from their respective countries.'

Meanwhile, CHANDI Summit is part of the Ministry of Education and Culture's efforts to advance Indonesian culture in the midst of world civilization.

"We want to make a reproduction of our culture in the middle of the world, in accordance with our constitutional mandate, Article 32 paragraph 1 and the Law on the Advancement of Culture, Law Number 5 of 2017," said Fadli.

"Maybe in the future (CHANDI Summit) can be held in other cities in other provinces. And that's the plan," he said.
