Monita Tahalea Prepares New Album Setlist At Mount Series 2025 Jazz On Bromo

For the third time, Monita Tahalea will appear on the Mount Bromo Jazz. She was chosen as a line to fill the special show slot at the BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2025 the second series which will be held at the Amphitheater Jiwa Java Resort Bromo, Probolinggo on Saturday, July 26.

In his appearance this time, Monita prepared for the first time to perform nine songs from his latest album, Merona, which was released on June 30.

"At the Mount Jazz, I will bring my latest material, which just released on June 30 yesterday, the title is Merona. That's my fourth album with a different ambience," said Monita, met after the press conference for the 2025 Mount Series Jazz in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 3.

"So indeed this album is quite a bold decision to personally consider it. So, I'm quite excited to also bring it live," he continued.

Even though he has performed at Mount Bromo Jazz twice, the 37-year-old singer ensures that he is still preparing himself, especially his physical condition, to perform optimally. The reason is, the venue used is an open space at an altitude with very cold temperatures, it can even reach 7 degrees Celsius

"For me, the terrain is quite challenging. Not only what we have prepared in terms of material, physically it must also be strong. Cold weather, continues to be sung at high altitudes with all air pressure and all kinds of things," said Monita.

"For vocalists, the throat must continue to warm. Because of the cold weather, it becomes a challenge. Usually we warm up for quite a long time and often, before the backstage the sound band continues to warm up, it also has to warm up," he added. "Even though it's on stage, we're quite warm, moving. Yes, it's quite challenging, because it's tense, cold too," he explained.

But behind all the challenges that must be faced, the singer of Restarts' said that appearing at Mount Bromo Jazz provides a separate 'misistical' experience, with a very warm audience.

"The most difficult thing is to look at the audience. The more mystical it is," he said.

Apart from Monita Tahalea, other names that will appear in the second series are Tohpati Ethnomission, Bintang Indrianto, Lorjhu, Natasya Elvira, Sal Priadi, and French musician Rogue.

Meanwhile, those who will appear in the first series of July 19, are Emptyyy, Jamie Aditya, Kua Etnika, RAN, Karimata, and Dutch musician Chagall.

Between the two series, the Mount Indonesia Jazz as the promoter also held the Bromo Jazz Camp program, which took place at Bromo Rehat. This program will run on July 20 - 25.

Apart from Bromo, the 2025 Mount Series Jazz will be held at the Inspector General, precisely at the Taman Gandrung Terakota Amphitheater, Banyuwangi on August 9.

The ticket prices for the 2025 Mount Series Jazz on Bromo range from Rp300,000 to Rp6,000,000, and can be purchased through the Secretariat.
