JAKARTA - The son of the late Hamdan ATT, Haikal Attamimi, stated that he will continue to fight for moral and economic rights from what his father had done during his lifetime.

Haikal said, to fight for royalties from the works of the late father, especially the royalties of performing rights, he chose to fight with the All-Indonesian Composter Association (AKSI).

"I joined the ACTION, one of them," said Haikal to the media crew in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta some time ago.

Before deciding to fight through ACTION, Haikal said he had asked his mother for permission.

"If all the details are for mechanical, everything has been taken care of. For my performance right, it represents to the ACTION," said Haikal.

Not alone, Haikal said, many parties encouraged and helped him to fight for the economic rights of the late Hamdan ATT.

"From the work, so far we have helped to take care of it in its copyright. Everyone helps take care of it," he said.

For information, Hamdan ATT passed away on Tuesday, July 1 the day after tomorrow. In the last years of his life, Hamdan had to fight against several diseases.

Meanwhile, Hamdan ATT's musical journey began as a teenager. His interest in music brought him to appear on many small stages, until in the 1970s it became a turning point in his career.

When dangdut began to take root as the identity of people's music, Hamdan appeared as a dancer who brought a melancholic feel in his work and appearance with a more subtle and emotional approach.

Hamdan reached the peak of his career in the 1980s to 1990s. He released a series of songs that quickly penetrated the market. Some of his most well-known works include The Poorest in the World', Holy Prayers, 'Blood Waters', and Defect Girlfriend.

Albums such as "Old Luka", "Sengsara Become Heritage", and "Live in Sina" received good comments among dangdut lovers. In his time, Hamdan ATT's cassettes were said to have reached sales of hundreds of thousands of copies.

If many dangdut singers appear in a glamorous and expressive style, Hamdan ATT chooses a different image, tends to be simple, both in appearance and in vocal style.

Even though it rarely appears in the last years, Hamdan ATT's influence still feels strong. The songs are often replayed, both by modern dangdut singers, talent search event participants, as well as in nostalgic content on YouTube.
