Member No Na Reveals The Early Story Of Meetings And Training Periods Before Debuting

JAKARTA - Christy, Baila, Esther, and Shaz made their debut as no na last May. The four Indonesian virgins joined the 88rising music label formed by Sean Miyashiro and based in Los Angeles, USA which also houses Rich Brian and NIKI.

Three singles have been released by no na so far, namely shoot, superstitious, and falling in love, which features pop music colors and their love of R&B.

They have also undergone their first major stage at the Head In the Clouds which was held in Los Angeles last week.

In a recent interview with Billboard, the members shared how they met when the Head in the Clouds was held in Jakarta in December 2022.

At that time, Baila, Shaz, and Christy met for the first time. Six months later, Esther completed the quartet, and they started training in Jakarta with dance and vocal lessons together.

"That's when we start spending every day together," Esther said.

"Indonesians are quite relaxed, and it is very easy for us to get along. We don't have to try to like each other," added Baila.

Meanwhile, Shaz and Christy came from a dance background, Baila has become a soloist after competing in Indonesian Idol Junior, while Esther had competed in Indonesian Idol for the tenth season.

It was stated that the four members were secretly targeted by 88rising an effort led by founder and CEO Sean Miyashiro.

"We didn't know he was from 88," recalls Esther laughing, remembering a meeting with Miyashiro. "They just said, 'Do you want to be a part of a global girl group?' Initially, it scared us."

"We stalked him," added Shaz jokingly.

The offer looks even more serious because 88rising has not only formed a global girl group from Indonesia, but has also moved members to Los Angeles. They share apartments in world entertainment centers since 2024.
