JAKARTA - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon attended the opening of the 2025 AMI Awards registration today, Thursday, June 5. Entering the 28th event, Fadli highlighted the role of the AMI Awards in uniting and strengthening the music ecosystem.
At Building A of the Ministry of Culture, Fadli also emphasized the importance of music as a cultural force that can strengthen the nation's identity.
"Music is a universal language. It unites diversity, channels expressions, and reflects the soul of the nation," said Menbud Fadli Zon in a written broadcast.
For almost three decades, AMI has been a reflection of the great transformation in the Indonesian music industry, from the era of cassettes to the digital era.
Fadli's statement is not just a pleasant story. As of 2024, 5,049 songs have been registered in this event. This number shows an increase in space for all genres and cultural groups to express themselves.
Fadli called AMI a version of the Indonesian version of the 'Grten Awards' which was able to trigger cross-generational copyright and appreciation. He also highlighted the importance of space for traditional music and musical play such as keroncong and dangdut.

This category is presented to appreciate the growth of experimental music and vocal trainers who have been under the spotlight so far.
"Through this new category, we want to expand the reach of appreciation. The hope is that more works will be born and more parties will be involved in the development of our music," said Candra.
