JAKARTA - Sad news has just been released regarding the death of the legendary jazz drummer, Al Foster. The seasoned musician reportedly passed away in 82 years due to serious illness.

The news was shared by his daughter, Kierra on social media today, Monday, June 2. He uploaded one of the last gig moments of the deceased four months ago.

"My father, Al Foster, passed away yesterday. This is a video four months ago on his birthday," Kierra wrote.

Citing NME on June 2, Rosy Rose Steinberg, who is Al's music partner, confirmed that her best friend died of chronic illness. But he did not reveal in detail about the illness experienced by the deceased.

Aloysiusten Foster, has left a long record in his career. Starting music in the late 60s, his career has been up since he was recruited as drummer Miles Davis, who has been a music tandem for decades.

Al Foster's dedication in music doesn't need much validation. He continued to perform and actively wrote songs until the last years of his life.

Finally, he released the album Reflections in 2022 as a collection of his final works. The legend passed away as inspiration and legend for his successors, especially in the jazz scene.
