Keenan Nasution Sues Vidi Aldiano For 31 Nuance Bening Song Shows Without Permission

JAKARTA - Keenan Nasution and Rudi Pekerti, who together wrote the song Nuansa Bening, sued Vidi Aldiano at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court. The inaugural trial for the lawsuit will be held on Wednesday, May 28 tomorrow.

Minola Sebayang as Keenan and Rudi's attorney explained that the lawsuit was based on Vidi's show 'Nuansa Bening' without the songwriter's permission.

"This is related to the use of the song Nusansa Bening in several of its concerts, Vidi, who did not ask permission from his creators, namely Keenan Nasution and Rudi Pekerti," Minola told the media crew in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Monday, May 26.

The lawyer believes there were hundreds of shows where Vidi performed a 'Nuansa Bening' without Keenan and Rudi's permission.

However, this time, the lawsuit only contains about 31 commercial performances, where the 35-year-old singer is suspected of having committed copyright infringement.

"In fact, maybe hundreds of times, the song was used in concerts and commercial performances. Yes, there is no permission from the creator, yes," said Minola.

"It's just that in our lawsuit, we performed approximately 31 performances commercially, where in the show, the song Nuansa Bening was performed but there was no permission from the creator," he added.

Furthermore, regarding the points in the lawsuit and the compensation fine filed against Vidi, Minola chose to explain after the inaugural trial was held.

"There is a value, maybe at a trial in Central Jakarta let my team explain the details of the lawsuit. Because it is impossible for us to convey it today before the trial starts," concluded Minola.
