Brazilian Police Thwarts Attempts To Bomb Lady Gaga's Largest Concert On Copacabana Beach

JAKARTA - Lady Gaga's biggest show in Brazil on Saturday, May 3 evening, was colored by the bombing attempt, which local police say has been thwarted.

It was stated that the 39-year-old singer-writer appeared in front of more than two million people who gathered at Copakabana Beach, Rio De Janeiro.

The show itself was successfully held, but the next day, Rio De Janeiro State Civil Police in coordination with the Ministry of Justice said they had arrested two suspects suspected of recruiting people, including minors, to carry out coordinated attacks using homemade explosives and Molotov cocktails.

According to Reuters, one suspect was arrested in Rio Grande Do Sul state for possession of illegal firearms.

More than a dozen search and confiscation warrants have also been carried out across the states of Rio De Janeiro, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande Do Sul, and Srypto Paulo.

The operation is named Operation Monster Fake, based on information from Rio De Janeiro state police intelligence that has identified an online group that encourages violent behavior among adolescents using code language and extremist symbolism.

The Ministry of Justice also called the recruiters to identify themselves as 'Small Ministers', a term used for Gaga's fan base.

Through her Instagram account, Gaga uploaded her response to a show in Brazil, but did not explicitly mention the thwarted bombing attempt.

"No one can prepare me for the feelings I felt during last night's show the great pride and joy I felt while singing to the Brazilian people," wrote Gaga. "The view of the crowd during my opening song amazed me. Your hearts shine so bright, your culture is so lively and special, I hope you know how grateful I am to have shared this historic moment with you."
