Idiophon Dedicates Strangers' Resurrecting Album In Music Singing

JAKARTA - Lanlan Strangers continues his solo project, Idiofon, by introducing his debut album titled 'Resurrecting Strangers'. The album contains 12 songs, all written, arranged, and produced by Lanlan with his wife, Tiana Marie Ennamorati, in their petite studio greeting.

The process of working on this album not only shows technical independence, but also creativity intimacy which is rarely encountered today.

Meanwhile, some of the songs presented contain Lanlan's personal stories. For him, this step is the most honest form of musical regeneration, which contains small moments that grow together between tones and words.

"There are songs on this album that I dedicate personally, two of which are for those who have colored me in my life: 'Salvadors' for Pratiwi Juliani and The Director for the late Richard Oh a song like a prayer sung in silence," said Lanlan in his statement, Wednesday, April 16.

Another song, Let Things be Things, was written with my son, Safa Kilau Arabella, "he added.

Similar to other works produced through Idiofon, Lanlan has never promised a live performance on stage. He calls his music a quiet landscape and reflection spaces, which are suitable to listen to while looking at the rain from behind the window or writing daily records that are never completed.

For Lanlan, the music is more suitable to be a film soundtrack. Songs in Idiophon such as touchy feelings montage without having to be clearly explained.

For information, Lanlan started his musical journey with Strangers (later known as STRGGRS) in the early 2000s.

Two decades later, Lanlan then started Idiogon, a solo project that was worked on with his wife. The single titled "Hindsight 20/20" which was released at the end of 2020 became the beginning of Idiofon's journey, until finally the album "Resurrecting Strangers" was introduced.

As a major musician on the Bandung indie scene at the start of the millennials, Lanlan has written all the songs for STRGGRS, played bass for The Milo, compiled EGO, to become an additional NOAH bassist.

However, Idiophon is a journey and another story. It's not about the band, it's not about the magnificent stage or award nomination, this project is about how a father who already doesn't have time to hang out can remain honest about his musical desires.

Lanlan is not trying to return to youth. Instead, he celebrates maturity with more contemplative production of works, lyrics born from conversations across space and time with his wife, and arrangements that prioritize emotions rather than exhibitions.
