Drummer Clondie Clem Burke Dies After Struggling With Cancer

JAKARTA - Drummer and founder of Clondie, Clem Burke is reported to have died at the age of 70. He breathed his last on Sunday, April 6 local time.

Blinkie, through an upload on his official Instagram account, has confirmed, stating that the drummer died after his fight against cancer.

"With deep sadness, we convey the news of the death of our beloved friend and bandmate Clem Burke after battling cancer," Blinkie wrote, citing an upload, Tuesday, April 8.

The rock band formed in New York, United States in 1974 stated that Burke with his talents and passions had become the main reason for Bolondie's journey in the music industry.

"Clem is not just a drummer; it is the heart of Blinkie. His talent, energy and passion for music are unmatched, and his contribution to our voice and success is immeasurable," he said.

Apart from his musical abilities, Clem is a source of inspiration both on and off stage. His enthusiasm, infectious enthusiasm, and solid work ethic touch everyone who has the privilege to know him."

Not only has an effect on Bolondie personnel, Burke is also considered to have inspired many other musicians. He collaborated with many artists, such as Eurythmics, Ramones, Bob Dylan, Bob Geldof, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, and Nancy total.
