JAKARTA - Former Ozzy Osbourne bassist Rudy Sarzo expressed his enthusiasm for the last Black Sabbath show, 'Back to the Beginning'. The reason is, he was involved in the concert which was held as a big celebration for heavy metal music.
Meanwhile, Black Sabbath will hold its final show in his hometown. The heavy metal PInation will feature with many other bands at Villa Park, Birmingham on July 5.
Sarzo, who was the bassist of Osbourne for a year in the 1980s, said he was honored for the invitation to appear at Sabbath's last show.
In a recent interview with Terrie Carr from WDHA-FM 105.5 FM, Sarzo also told how he was first asked to appear in 'Back to the Beginning'.
"I happened to be on my way with Quiet Riot, playing at some casinos in the West I think it's Idaho, I'm sure and I just finished lunch with guitar player (Quite Riot], Alex (Gross]. And I got a text message from Tom Morello, "said Sarzo.
"This has been done secretly behind (the screen) for a year and a half until it was confirmed last month," he continued.
According to Sarzo's confession when Morello contacted him as a music director, he was asked to appear directly by Osbourne and his wife, Sharon.

"But back to the time I received the text message, I read it and basically it read, 'Hi, Rudy. Tom (here). Sharon and Ozzy asked me to see if you were willing and wanted to participate in this event.'" he said. And at that time, for many reasons, time seemed to stop and bring me back, like 40 years.
The 74-year-old bassist said he immediately accepted the offer without thinking. For months, he was asked to keep it a secret, until it was finally revealed.
I didn't tell anyone. I kept going on with everything I was doing. Then I met Tom Morello at thementycast James Dio (Last November). And I said, 'Is everything still going on?' And he said, 'Yes. Still going on.'' said the bassist.
"Then it went fast to the time the announcement occurred. About a week before the announcement, I got a call from the person who organized it through Live Nation in England to confirm that I would participate. And of course I said, 'Yes. I will attend.' So that's when it was confirmed, it was official that this would happen, "he concluded.
