JAKARTA - D'Masiv took on a big mission when he decided to go to the United States to appear in front of the world music industry players who were present at the 2025 Musexpo.
They will appear on March 16 and receive a fair show at first time (prime time) before record label executives, music publishers, artist managers, radios, streaming platforms, and media representatives.
To perform optimally there, Rian (vocals) said that D'Masiv underwent intensive training, similar to when they were still a festival band.
"We made four exercises before we left, and once the exercise a day can be over 10 hours, from day to night. So we are like a flashback, considering that we used to join the band festival," Rian told the media crew in Ciledug, South Jakarta recently.
"In the past, we had more time, now that we are already busy and still performing, we have to arrange time. But really we focus on how we can minimize our mistakes on stage with that practice," continued the vocalist.
Not only appearing in the showcase, Rian said the most important part of D'Masiv's visit to Musexpo was during a business meeting. They will explore several deals to smooth their way into a band that is known to the world.
"We are not only appearing in front of the world music industry players, but we will also hold a business meeting. So, we are already getting closer," he said.
To communicate with the executive there, Rian even admitted that he had to return to learning English, which would be an important part of finding the best agreement.

Even earlier I was accompanied by my English teacher. In fact, I have to go back back to learn good pronuncation. Because we also don't want to play games when appearing at this event, and indeed the plan is that after we go to LA, we will have a showcase and meeting business there," said Rian. . . 'After returning from LA, we will make plans for us when the recording will be released, when will the album be released, etc.'
Meanwhile, this year will be the second opportunity for D'Masiv to attend Musexpo. They have appeared there last year. However, Rian said the presence of D'Masiv in Musexpo this year would be very different, considering they would appear on a better stage than last year.
"For the last year, we were just going to a showcase. At that time we were performing in extra time, so actually we only got slots at the end, so we didn't get exposure last year," said Rian.
"This year, thank God, because of the maximum performance last year, the A&R Worldwide finally invited DMasiv back, and we were given a slot at prime time, at 9 pm, and it has been confirmed that 250 players in the world music industry will witness it," he added.
Regarding his appearance later, the 38-year-old vocalist said that DMasiv will perform five to six songs, all of which use English lyrics.
"We got the opportunity for about 25-30 minutes, so maybe 5-6 songs that we will perform, and that's all the songs in English," said Rian. One song that we have released is Side By Side, the other is an unreleased song, which we have never released at all and we have never officially recorded it, only the demo version we have just recorded.
