Cultural Tepo Seliro, Dewa 19 Gives Royalties IDR 75 Million To The Family Of The Late Erwin Prasetya

JAKARTA - Ahmad Dhani wants Dewa 19 to be an example of how important his attitude is in the relationship between the songwriter and the musicians who present it.

Meanwhile, tepo juruho is a term in Javanese that can be interpreted as an attitude of tolerance or empathy.

In this case, Dewa 19 wants to set a good example, where they still provide royalties for performing rights to the late Erwin Prasetya (bass) through his wife who is said to be the heir.

"So, Dewa 19 has not gone through LMK, nor has Erwin Prasetya asked to write the song 'You're The Only One', which we sometimes perform in Dewa 19," said Dhani in Senayan, Central Jakarta last week.

"Dewa 19 wants to teach an unnamed culture but we do it too, it's called the tepo saharo culture," he continued.

Dhani said Erwin's figure as Dewa 19's initial bassist was his colleague when he composed the song 'You're The Only One'.

Considering that the song was performed on stage several times, Dhani felt that the late Erwin should have received economic rights from his creation.

"This song is only half, yes, 'You are the One' that makes me and Erwin. But we are without a contract, without Erwin's economic rights as a songwriter, Dewa 19 still gives his economic rights, which is Rp75 million," said Dhani.

Not only this time, Dhani said that Dewa 19 gave Erwin's economic rights periodically since 2022.

"Without being asked, so far we have had frequent transfers. I don't know once a month, once every two months, always transfers, from 2022, since Dewa 19 there has been a concert with a new singer," he concluded.
