JAKARTA - Eka Gustiwana must face copyright infringement for his work. His song, entitled 'Pancasila Teacher', was uploaded by irresponsible parties to the digital streaming platform (DSP).
Through his statement on Threads, the Weird Genius personnel requested that Spotify's account with the name Laksana Satriambada take down the song.
"Anyone who feels they have uploaded the song 'Pancasila Teacher' sung by @kikankikan to DSP (Spotify, etc) consciously takedown, before there will be further action from the owner of the master and publisher concerned," said Eka, citing his statement, Monday, February 24.
"The song has so far been agreed not to be commercialized in any form," he continued.
Eka also questioned the intention behind the behavior of the account.
"So I'm curious, does he really not understand copyright or is he really stupid?"
Meanwhile, the Spotify Laksana Satriambada account has 8,829 monthly listeners. Of the dozens of songs, the 'Pancasila Teacher' which was uploaded on September 26, 2024, was recorded as the song with the highest number of streams, with 82,045 streams.
