Ari Bias's Response To Agnez Mo Who Submitted Cassation To The Supreme Court

JAKARTA - Agnez Mo has stated that he chose legal remedies by filing an appeal against the decision of the Central Jakarta Commercial Court which sentenced him to have committed copyright infringement for performing the song Just Fine created by Ari Bias without permission.

The 38-year-old singer did not talk much about the cassation submitted to the Supreme Court. He did not want to comment on the contents of the cassation because the process was ongoing.

On the other hand, Ari Bias whose lawsuit was partially granted by the panel of judges at the first level said that his party had predicted the legal steps taken by Agnez.

"If there is an appeal, we have actually predicted it, we will definitely appeal it. We are also ready to deal with it," Ari told the media crew in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 19.

Furthermore, Ari questioned the reason Agnez recently talked about this problem on Deddy Corbuzier's Close The Door podcast.

According to him, the problem with the song Bilang Saja has been conveyed since 2023, but no response has been given. The police summons and reports have also been carried out, although they still did not receive a response.

"That's a period of one and a half years, until finally the court's decision. So where was the question yesterday? How come it's only now (it appears), after the Rp1.5 M fine decision has just been noisy here and there," said Ari.

"Please, I don't mind wanting podcasts here and there, meaning it won't have an effect on me either, because the verdict has been knocked on the hammer. What impact? The impact is that we are fighting again at the cassation," he continued.

Ari said his fight was over with his lawsuit decision at the Central Jakarta District Court, and he did not want to comment further on what Agnez said on the podcast.

"Say remind you again, my fight was over in court yesterday. Please, I will not respond to the statement from AM on the podcast, it was already sold out in court yesterday, we put it down to fact witnesses, everything there," said Ari.

"So, my fight is over. I'm just waiting for the cassation," he said.
