Showbiz Begins His Steps In The Music Industry Through Single Debut, Precious Time

Showbiz debuted through his first single, Precious Time (via Sinjitos Collective)

JAKARTA - Sinjitos Collective, one of the country's music labels, introduced Showbiz, an indie dream-pop unit from Jakarta who made his debut on the music scene. They released their first single entitled 'Precious Time'.

This is a song about misunderstanding, regret and desire to turn back time. Released on January 31, the song presents a sad feel that is contrasted with fast rhythms and tends to be energetic.

Taking an introspective vocal feel like the band The Radio Dept., wrapped in a tune guitar and a repetitive drum tap like the New Order band, "Precious Time" tells the story of the pain of the loss of a loved one with the hope of starting again.

Furthermore, 'Precious Time' explores the emotional complexity of regret. This song was written in 2003 by Joseph Saryuf (instrument, vocals), which was re-recorded with a new arrangement in 2024. Through this song, Showbiz wants to invite listeners to enter the narrative about heartbreak, and also the desire to turn back time.

"It feels like everyone has experienced a broken heart phase, and we are trying to write it down using our perspective as a band," said Merdi Leonardo (the main vocal) in a written broadcast received by VOI recently.

Canceling lyrics like 'don't stop me now to take you back to our time' and 'please turn the time back to where we have started' illustrates the universal longing for a second chance.
