Super Diva Concert Review, stunning even though there are things that block (Ivan Two Men/VOI)

JAKARTA - The Super Diva concert, which was delayed, was finally well organized at the Indonesia Arena GBK, Central Jakarta on Friday, January 17 evening. The show, which was promoted by the Nusantara Children's Concessium, lasted 2.5 hours featuring 44 songs.

As is known, the Super Diva concert featured members of 3 Diva consisting of Kris Dayanti, Ruth Sahanaya and Titi DJ, as well as members of the LTZ Super Girls consisting of Lyodra, Tiara Andini and Ziva Magnolya. The six female soloists appeared under the direction of Erwin Gutawa as music director and Jay Subyakto as art director.

In the initial repertoire, the six singers performed simultaneously on stage. They performed medleys of hits, such as Language of Kalbu, Mahadaya Cinta, Kupu-Kupu, Paint painting, Ekspres'.

On the 360-degree stage, the performers wore bright colored clothes, accompanied by dozens of background dancers and more than 50 musicians. Thousands of spectators began to fill the entire corner of the arena.

This initial appearance, even though it displays luxury, still creates confusion. The concept of a 360-degree stage that is made multilevel, requires the six singers to fill all corners of the stage hoping for a different direction.

It's quite difficult to see every performer and what they're doing. The big screen on stage is also not very helpful. The reason is, the visuals shown don't always show the six singers. Not to mention, the screen only faces two sides, north and south, so those on the west and east sides don't get maximum visuals.

At this stage, the luxury of the Super Diva concert, which the performers call a big concert at the beginning of the year, is clearly visible. But to enjoy it as a whole, it doesn't feel enough.

The show continued with displaying the trio format of Super Girls LTZ. They performed a number of songs, such as 'Ordinary Woman', 'Last Message', 'Being Him', 'Ego', 'Feeling Beautiful', 'My Love', to 'A Lotta Love'.

With a stage that covers a basketball court, it can be seen how Lyodra, Tiara Andini and Ziva try to control the arena. They share assignments, singing in different directions.

There was a different impression when LTZ Super Girls appeared without their seniors. They seem more relaxed. The distinctive energy of young singers is even more visible.

Next, still with the trio concept, 3 Divas go up on stage. Kris Dayanti, Ruth Sahanaya and Titi DJ brought medleys of songs they once popularized, such as 'Stars', 'Memory', 'What I Want', 'If You Come', to 'Only Love Can'.

The appearance of 3 Divas presents a different feel, this time in dark clothes. With decades of experience, they appeared with a 'class' of a diva on stage. The audience was carried away and participated in singing every verse of the song performed.

In addition to sextet and trio formats, this concert also features a senior-junior duet format. Ruth Sahanaya is paired with Ziva Magnolya, Titi DJ with Tiara Andini, and Kris Dayanti with Lyodra.

Ruth and Ziva's appearance was greeted with shouts and applause from the audience. They brought up Until When and 'I didn't suspect'. The improvization of the two on stage became an attraction in itself. The audience was unable to hold back the admiration and gave loud applause at the end of their appearance.

However, the format of this duet, when Titi DJ and Tiara Andini appeared, felt different from other appearances. Tiara looks so burdened with the part that requires her to believe in her. Understandably, it is not easy for singers who have only been in the music industry for four decades to pair with singers who have been playing music. Big stage and thousands of viewers also provide their own burdens.

Of all the repertoires displayed that night, it is necessary to highlight Ruth Sahanaya's solo appearance when performing the song You' Everything. Her appearance was so strong on stage. It was not surprising that when the repertoar was over, the audience gave their most lively applause during the show.

The Super Diva concert looks so prepared, with various stage displays, the performances of the six singers, and the music arrangement. An elegant combination of 3 Divas and the young energy of Super Girls LTZs gives their own colors.

However, the concept of a 360-degree stage does not seem to be a habit for music concerts in Indonesia. With the wide stage used, the satisfaction that the audience gets will be very different, depending on which side they watch.

In addition, without reducing the potential of LTZ Super Girls, appearing on stage with 3 Divas who are already very experienced, is not an easy matter.

On the other hand, the music arrangements presented need to get more appreciation. Musicians play relentlessly, almost throughout the show. Erwin Gutawa also gave a different life for most repertoires, which made each song enjoyable, although not very familiar to his ears.
