Anggi Marito Releases Rossa's Aku Bukan Untukmu, Reveals the Challenges Behind the Recording Process

JAKARTA - Anggi Marito is back with a ballad song which is her main strength. He has just released a song combination entitled Aku Bukan Untukmu owned by Rossa under the record label Universal Music Indonesia.

This song was composed by Aji Mirza Hakim or known as Icha Jikustik. First released in 2004, this song was brought back by Anggi with a new touch.

Mentalization is an important aspect in singing ballad songs. Therefore, Anggi tries to explore the lyrics by interpreting them into stories that are close to the love story of young people.

"I translated this song like someone really loves us, but at that time we didn't feel the love, or we weren't interested at that time. Well, when he was close to us, and showed us affection, we got away. But, when he was the same as the new one, we were even sorry, why did I hurt you in the past," said Anggi Marito in a written broadcast received by VOI, January 17.

Bringing back the song that was sung by Rossa's caliber was a burden for Anggi. He responded to this by maximizing the preparation process and recording day to achieve the best results. "Honestly, when I was told about this project, I was really nervous. How not, this song is the character, his soul, it's already Teh Ocha ( Rossa's nickname) really. So it's really homework for me to make the song fresher without losing the originality of this song. But, finally it worked and I'm satisfied with the results," he said.

Giving a new touch is not that easy. With Barsena's direction as a vocal director, Anggi Marito answered the challenge by improvising what he didn't expect.

The heaviest challenge is that there are a lot of improvisations from Basena Bestandhi. Because he's a vocal director for this song, so I don't expect many from his improvisations. But, I'm very happy to finally be able to execute well," he said.

Unintentionally during the recording process Anggi met Rossa, it seems that this song is indeed a fate letter for Anggi. Rossa herself admitted that she was very satisfied after hearing the first time the song "I'm not For You", Anggi Marito version. He really didn't expect this song to be suitable for Anggi.

"I really like the results, they are really good. Anggi's vocal character made the song fresh, full of taste, the arrangement is really cool, it doesn't get rid of the old music feel, Bagus, it's really good," said Rossa about the song.

Both Anggi Marito and Rossa hope this song will not only become a moment of nostalgia, but also be able to provide something new for the new generation who may not know much about the song.

"I'm really happy that this can be released again, because for those who are old generation maybe this can be something that restores nostalgia. But, for the current generation, who may not have heard the old version, this song could be a new anthem for their generation," hoped Rossa.

"I hope this song can be accepted by many people, without having to compare, because whatever version this song is, it's very good to hear," concluded Anggi Marito.
