Rob Hammersmith Confirms Skid Row Is Still Looking For A New Vocalist

JAKARTA - The band from New Jersey, Skid Row is still running without vocalists, after Erik Gr\"owall decided to step down to focus on his health condition in March 2024.

As is known, Gr\"owall has been diagnosed with blood cancer and bone cord since 2021. In the midst of his condition, he is still involved in the album The Gang's All Here (2022) and the tour ended just before the announcement of his release from the band.

Although it has been almost a year without a vocalist, the drummer, Rob Hammersmith, said that Skid Row is still active in finding the right person to be a frontman.

"We are still in active search for the next lead vocalist Skid Row," Hammersmith said in a recent interview with The Metal Summit.

Hammersmith said there are several strong candidates for now, but no official decision has yet been made to leave the band. Drummer, who joined Skid Row in 2010, said the personnel were still looking for the right person.

"As I said, we are still in the right search process, we will soon achieve it. So, unfortunately, there has been no concrete announcement," he said.

"Even so, we want to stay in the world of rock and metal. All ideas are accepted at this time. So, the singers out there, if you feel right, you will know where to find us," he added.

Furthermore, Hammersmith said the personnel were undergoing a break and would reunite in the near future. However, he asked for the patience of fans for the announcement of the new vocalist.

"However, as everyone knows, this is a long process and it always takes longer than you expected. So, we'll see. Hopefully in early 2025 we will announce some important things for everyone," he concluded.
