Primus Appears For The First Time Since Being Left By The Drummer

JAKARTA - The California rock band Primus has returned to action on stage for the first time since the drummer, Alexander's 'Herb' Team, withdrew from the band last October.

The show took place as part of the Primus New Year's Eve celebration at Fox Theater located inbangkila, California on Monday, December 30.

The show also featured other bands, such as Holy Mackerel and Frog Brigade. However, the main show was a six-song performance from Primus with Bryan Brain Mantia as drummer.

Mantia was previously a Primary drummer in 1989, before being replaced by Alexander, who will play until 1996. After Alexander's initial departure, Mantia returned to play until Primus disbanded in 2000.

Alexander will remain the band's drummer for most of their careers after the 2003 reunion, except for another absence between 2010 and 2013.

Previously, Herbal officially announced his resignation from Primus via electronic mail on October 17. Two weeks later, the 59-year-old drummer was officially declared no longer part of Primus.

Regarding the reason for leaving the band, Herbal admitted that she had changing feelings while playing for Primus.

"Often times, you do something you like for a long time, and sometimes that passion turns into work, and sometimes that job doesn't feel like yours anymore," Herbal said.

"Over time, I began to realize that it affects my physical life, affects my mental life, and affects my family life. And my heart is not focused on him," he continued.

Herbal admitted that she had thought about it before deciding to leave the band. He is also ready for what he will go through in the future.

"When I realized that I was struggling with all this stuff, I had to sit down and think about what I really did," he said.

"I don't think I've ever chosen the path of my life. I think I always think, 'I'm a drummer, I'm just going to be music'. And everything comes to me, I accept whatever happens," he said.
