Shatter, Music Works Influential To The Kiprah Negative Lovers

JAKARTA - More than ten years of acting on the music scene, Negative Lovers announced the release of their latest work entitled Shatter. The song was released exclusively on Bandcamp starting November 23, and is already available on all digital platforms starting today, December 16.

In addition to Shatter's main song, this single also contains two other previously unreleased songs, namely Rock & Folk and It Takes Me Back, which were recorded in 2012, produced by Joseph Saryuf of Santamonica.

Shatter represents the evolution of Negative Lovers in music. Written by Tony Setiaji and totaling A. Davitri, this song explores the depth of inner conflict and emotional destruction.

This is a darker side compared to the band's distinctive musical style, combining rough rock noise with a haunted rhythm and hypnotics. This song explores universal struggles about sacrificing personal principles for someone or someone you love.

"This song is about feelings divided when we are forced to act against our confidence just because of love or desire," explained Tony Setiaji in a written broadcast received by VOI, December 16. "This is very intense and very personal."

This single is self-produced by Tony Setiaji, where his vision is to form several layers of dense and heavy sound. It is a full-energy collision of distortion, atmosphere, and tension, combining elements of Noise Rock, Post-Punk, EBM and sonic experiments with a darker touch. Through the song Shatter, Negative Lovers seem to want to show that they are never afraid to open up new avenues as well as face uncomfortable truth.

Through Shatter, Negative Lovers once again proved that they are ready to take risks and evolve without compromise. This song is a major change from their previous work, but still maintains the emotional depth that has always been the hallmark of their music.
