DAY, Three Experienced Musicians Working On New Projects And EPs, Have A Nice Day

JAKARTA - Three experienced musicians, Dinul Ahman, Andy Machdar, and Yogie Feldian, agreed to unite in a music group called DAY. Thanks to the same frequency and creative vision, the band DAY was born naturally.

"The name DAY we chose not only as an acronym for the names of personnel 'Dinul, Andy, and Yogie' but also a form of hope that every work we present can be part of the days of our music listeners." said Dinul, drummer DAY in a press release received by VOI, December 13.

DAY is indeed present as a newcomer to the Indonesian music industry, but every member is an old face who has been poor across the Indonesian music stage. Dinul Ahman is an additional drummer for various great musicians such as Kahitna, Base Jam, Maia Estianti, Ari Lasso, Yovie & Nuno and is currently also a member of the Tic Band.

Andy Machdar, the keyboardist, has been in music since 1998 and has joined the band Stinky and aired. Currently Andy is a session player for Anji as well as in his profession as music arranger and movie composer. Meanwhile, Yogie Feldian, who once scored a hit with the song titled Puisi 12 with the band 9 Matahari and previously joined the band Stinky with Andre Taulany, now plays the guitarist and vocalist DAY.

"Together with DAY, I could be myself, I'm more free to express myself," said Andy, who felt that his new band was able to give him space for full exploration indefinitely.

While Dinul the drummer revealed that DAY had become a means for him to find a new meaning of music, 'DAY allows me to explore works with friends who are in rhythm, where we always try to synergize for a common purpose, DAY is my new family.'

As a band, DAY chooses to go through their creative process with a go with the flow style or without pressure. Through a recording session that is always spontaneous and clock-based, until now they have managed to have savings of 13 songs ready for release representing the characters of each person. "On DAY, we can trust each other, each character can flow naturally so that the work that was born becomes more honest and meaningful," added Yogie.

Carrying the Pop Storytelling genre,' the inspiration of DAY's works often comes from the personal experiences and outpouring of their friends' hearts. Their songs also contain relatable lyrics, so they can represent the feelings of many people, especially in songs with the theme of longing and enthusiasm. DAY officially released EP containing 5 songs while introducing their debut single titled "Missing You" which was chosen as the opening single because of its unique, spontaneous, and authentic music arrangement.
