Javanese Pop Enters Indonesian Music Listeners' Trends in 2024 on Spotify

JAKARTA - Spotify Wrapped Live Indonesia 2024 is back to show the trend of Indonesian music listeners through the platform throughout this year.

Gustav Back as Managing Director Southeast Asia for Spotify said, 2024 is a good year for musicians from various genres, which is reflected in Wrapped.

"Not only has Bernadya managed to capture the attention of listeners with his touching lyrics, but we have also seen tremendous growth from Indie and Javanese Pop musicians, whose uniqueness continues to captivate listeners throughout Indonesia," Back said in a press release received by VOI, Friday, December 6.

"It is very inspiring to witness so many talents shaping the Indonesian music landscape," he continued.

Bernadya has undeniably become the center of attention for Indonesian music this year, with the single "Satu Bulan" being named the Top Indonesian Song of 2024 and "Sialnya, Hidup Harus Tetap Naik" being named the Top Indonesian Album of 2024.

The soloist from Surabaya also became the Top Indonesian Artist of 2024 and the Top Indonesian Female Artist of 2024 at Spotify Wrapped Live Indonesia this year.

Meanwhile, for the Top Indonesian Male Artist of 2024, Tulus excelled over other soloists, such as Hindia (#2), Afgan (#3), Sal Priadi (#4), and Denny Caknan (#5).

Then, Juicy Luicy leads as the Top Indonesian Group 2024, followed by Last Child (#2), Dewa 19 (#3), NDX A.K.A. (#4), and Sheila on 7 (#5).

NDX A.K.A.'s presence on this list is worth highlighting. They released six releases this year, namely "Tiga", "Piwales Tresno", "Jaran Goyang" (New Version), "Move On" (New Version), "Sendiri Dalam Duka", and "Apa Kabar Mantan" (New Version)
