The East Indies Silenced Critics Through The Speech Of The Victory Of The AMI Awards

JAKARTA - Baskara Putra alias Indies brought home two trophies on the peak night of the 27th Indonesian Music Award (AMI) which took place at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Wednesday, December 4.

The East Indies became the 'king' for the Altenative Sector, winning two of the three existing categories. He won in the category of Best Alternative Solo Artist and Best Alternative Album.

In his winning speech, after thanking those closest to him who supported him, the 30-year-old singer-writer expressed her resistance to critics.

Specifically, he presented his victory to support those who faced critics.

"This is for everyone who is said to just stop singing because his voice is bad, because he is said to be unable to sing," said the Indies.

"No one can't sing men. Look for your voice. Thank you," he added.

For the category of Best Alternative Solo Artists, the Indies won thanks to the success of a single titled Cincin.

This victory is the third for him in the same category Previously, he won with a single house to house in 2020 and a fake promise in 2023.

That way, the Indies is listed as the soloist with the most trophies for the Best Alternative Solo Artist category, ahead of Nugie and Ari Lasso who won twice each.

Meanwhile, for the Best Alternative Album category, the Indies won thanks to their album titled Besides Life Will End.
