JAKARTA - After failing to bring home the Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards last year, Bernadya's dream was finally answered this year.

The 20-year-old singer-songwriter won her first trophy after her "Living Must Keep Running" won in the category of Best Pop Albums at the 27th AMI Awards.

Victory is a big achievement for Bernadya, her first studio album ahead of CAN MACHINES FALL IN LOVE? from Maliq & D Essentials, MARKERS AND SUCH PENS FLASH DISKS from Sal Priadi, Nonfiction from Juicy Luicy, and For the World, Love, and Dirty from Nadin Amizah.

For the first trophy, Bernadya did not give a winning speech because she was not yet present at the event location.

Apart from that category, Bernadya is also the nominee for Best Album category, Best Pop Female Solo Artist, Best Pop Song Creator, and Best Production Work.

Previously, Bernadya said she was happy with what she achieved this year, by becoming a nominee for several different categories.

"So last year was the first time I (entered the nomination) of the Best Newcomer, then at that time I didn't win, but at that time I was very grateful to be appreciated like that," said Bernadya when met in Senayan, Central Jakarta, October 15.

He said many of the closest people who had predicted him would get many nominations, but he did not expect to enter the main categories such as Best Album and Best Production Work.

"When I left, all of them said, 'a lot of money came in', but still, I was nervous. And the visit was in a category that I didn't expect, so I'm very, very grateful," he said.

Asked further about its potential to bring home the first AMI Awards, Bernadya admitted that she could not make predictions. All names nominated are said to be entitled to take home the trophy.

"But everyone is cool. I think everything deserves the Ami Awards. So to win or not, it's a bonus," said Bernadya.

Meanwhile, the peak night of the 27th AMI Awards was held at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta today, Wednesday, December 4. There are two sessions to be held, namely during the day and night.

There are 62 categories fought this year, which include various genres and types of music, ranging from pop, rock, R&B, jazz, dangdut, metal, orchestra, musical, and many more.
