Slipknot Drummer Eloy Casagrande Elected As Best Metal Drummer 2024

Eloy Casagrande has been named the best metal drummer in 2024 by Modern Drummer Magazine, through a poll conducted by its readers recently.

Through uploads on Instagram, the Slipknot drummer also expressed his gratitude to the readers who have chosen him.

I'm happy to be nominated as the best metal drummer in 2024 by Modern Drummer Magazine. Thank you to everyone who has voted for me," Eloy Casagrande said in a statement on the post, Tuesday, December 3.

With humility, the 33-year-old Brazilian drummer declared himself not the best, but he felt lucky with the support given to him.

"I want you guys to know that I'm not the best. Nothing is good or bad in music or art, but I'm lucky enough to have people who support me and like what I do," Casagrande wrote.

Thank you, Modern Drummer, for the service you provide to the drum community. Thank you Slipknot and the Maggots for trusting me. See you soon."

Casagrande joined Slipknot earlier this year, after Jay Weinberg decided to leave and join the Suicide Tendencies in November 2023.

Previously, Casagrande played for Sepultura for 13 years. He left the band to pursue his music career on another project.
