JAKARTA - In order to welcome the peak night of the 27th Indonesian Music Award (AMI) Awards, Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon expressed his appreciation to all parties who have contributed.
The event this year will take place in Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta on Wednesday, December 4. The peak night is expected to be an important momentum to celebrate the spirit of youth, innovation, and diversity in the Indonesian music industry.
In a press conference that took place at the Ministry of Culture today, Monday, December 2, Fadli highlighted AMI's role as an important milestone in the country's musical journey.
"For 27 years, the AMI Awards have been the highest respect for Indonesian musicians who continue to contribute to the Indonesian music industry. This event has also consistently built an inclusive music ecosystem, explored the best potential of the nation's children, and carved out cultural identities through their works," said Fadli.
The diversity of genres that continues to be presented in this event is considered as a form of development of Indonesian music.
These new categories are a form of recognition of the creativity and innovation of Indonesian musicians who continue to create fresh works and are relevant to the times," continued Fadli.
He also stated the Ministry of Culture's commitment to support the development of the music ecosystem through facilitation of intellectual property rights protection, cross-sectoral collaboration, and cultural-based innovation.

Furthermore, Fadli also highlighted the major transformation in the Indonesian music industry, especially with the shift from physical releases to digital platforms. According to him, this not only changes the way people enjoy music, but also opens up new opportunities for young musicians from various parts of the archipelago.
The digital music streaming sector even contributed 90.6% of the total music revenue in Indonesia in 2022. This change is a way for the birth of new names who are now able to compete at the national and international levels," he said.
Closing his remarks, Fadli Zon invited all parties to continue collaborating for the advancement of Indonesian music.
"Let's make Indonesian music an inspiration, driving unity, and cultural forces that make our nation proud on the world stage," he concluded.
