JAKARTA - Last year, the band Cokelat introduced Aiu Ratna as their new vocalist. But in the middle of the promotion period, Aiu had to go on maternity leave.

Cokelat also brought in a temporary vocalist to replace Aiu, namely Astrid Basjar, who was known for her melodious voice in the hits Baik-Baik and Make Me the Second.

Astrid welcomed Cokelat's invitation, considering that he has never been a vocalist for a band commercially.

“Cokelat is one of the big bands in Indonesia. A band that has a lot of hits, characterized and solid personnel. I am a fan of this band, ”said Astrid to the press that VOI received.

Astrid and Cokelat are also close because they were on the same record label. Regarding sound, Astrid does not need to be doubted in presenting musical harmony. He also has character.

“Astrid is a pop singer who has a unique voice and character. That's the reason Cokelat invited him to collaborate. It is very interesting to combine chocolate-style distorted pop rock with Astrid's vocals, ”said guitarist Edwin.

Later, Astrid will sing several Cokelat hits such as Karma, Luka Lama, Jauh, Bendera, and their latest song, Agresi which was released at the end of 2020.
