GIGI Brings F.T.E Of TM As A Repertoar For The Opening Of The 30 Years Of Work Celebration Concert

JAKARTA - The band GIGI held a concert to celebrate 30 years of work with the title GIGIInfinity at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, Saturday, August 24 night. VOI had the opportunity to witness firsthand one of the most important moments in the journey of one of Indonesia's best bands.

Armand Maulana (vocals), Dewa Budjana (guitar), Thomas Ramdhan (bass), and Gusti Hendy (drums) rose to the stage at 19.50 WIB, greeted by the boisterous crowds of thousands of spectators present.

GIGI plays the song FT.E of TM as the opening repertoar. They appear with a large screen that still covers the entire stage.

"Feel the emotion of the music / destroy my boredom / feel the emotion of the music / destroy my saturation," reads the chorus of the song sung by Armand Maulana.

The opening repertoire option is interesting, considering F.T.E of TM is one of the songs from the album All Ages which was released in 2001.

This is in line with what Thomas Ramdhan stated in a press conference last July, where this concert is expected to be able to introduce GIGI to music lovers from a new generation.

This hope seems successful, seeing how thousands of spectators who meet Istora Senayan come from various generations, both old and young. They enjoyed the energetic initial appearance of Armand cs.

Without saying much, Armand Maulana immediately led the band to present the second repertoire of the 'Leader', the main soundtrack for the film of the same name directed by Riri Riza in 2009.

The celebration concert for the 30 years of GIGI's work is also the night of the full star show. Afgan, Ariel (NOAH vocalist), Fanny Soegi, HIVI!, Kris Dayanti, Mahalini, and Bronze were also present as guest performers.

The journey of GIGI as a band began in 1994 by releasing his debut album titled 'Angan'. At that time the band consisted of Armand Maulana (vocals), Dewa Budjana (guitar), Aria Baron (guitar), Thomas Ramdhan (bass), and Ronald Fristianto (drums).

Had changed formation several times, the four GIGI personnel currently present are permanent formations that have existed since 2004.

During his 30 years of travel, GIGI has released no less than 13 studio albums along with several other albums. Hundreds of works have been produced, with dozens of songs still attached to the ears of Indonesian music lovers.

The celebration of the 30th anniversary of GIGI is expected to be a new beginning for Armand Maulana, Dewa Budjana, Thomas Ramdhan, and Gusti Hendy in living the music industry with a new generation that continues to emerge.
