Dua Lipa Explores 70s Disco Through Future Nostalgia

JAKARTA - The album that has been waiting for is finally released. In the midst of the corona virus pandemic, singer Dua Lipa continues to release her album today, Friday, March 27 with the title Future Nostalgia.

The enthusiasm for the album launch was heard since the release of the first single track, Don't Start Now. The music video has a disco feel and what's interesting is, Dua Lipa dances a lot here.

Comparing himself at the beginning of his career with now, there are quite a few changes given by the singer who was born on August 22.

Previously, he was mostly in the pop genre, this time he shifted to disco with electro. He is also experimenting with new hair looks compared to previous eras.

According to him, the Future Nostalgia album will have elements of life mixed with modern electro production. He was also inspired by the music of Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Blondie, and OutKast.

The flow of discounts is still felt through the Future Nostalgia track and the second single, Physical and Levitating. Physical is known to take samples of the same song sung by Olivia Newton John.

Not always for fun, Dua Lipa also sang Cool, a ballad track that uses a synthesizer. There are other ballad tracks on Boys Will Be Boys.

Then, bass and guitar also dominate the track Pretty Please a lot. Likewise, the tracks Love Again and Break My Heart have a cheerful tone even though the lyrics are full of emotion. The music video for Break My Heart was just released yesterday, March 26th.

Some time ago, this album was leaked on the internet so Lipa decided to push the release date forward.

Reportedly, for the album Future Nostalgia, he recorded nearly 60 songs. However, only 11 tracks made it to the final result.

Apart from Dua Lipa, the album was written and produced by Ian Kirkpatrick, Jason Evigan, Jeff Bhasker, KOZ, Lindgren, SG Lewis, Stuart Price, Take A Daytrip, and many more. Some of them have worked on Dua Lipa's music projects before.
