JAKARTA - The Suara Kayu duo, consisting of Dewangga Elsandro and Ingrid Tamara, has proven their existence in the Indonesian music industry through their latest song titled Kaktus.

The song Kaktus tells the story of a pair of very close old friends, such as brothers and sisters. However, eventually, one of them started to get carried away because felt comfortable, liked to laugh, and finally didn't want the relationship to be a Kaktus (cactus) or a Siblings without status.

The song that was distributed by the Warner Music Indonesia record company was also written by Raguel Lewy, who has experience in making songs for other singers such as Terlambat Sudah for Hanin Dhiya and also Sedang Sayang-sayangnya and Lebih dari Egoku for Mawar De Jongh.

“Our recording process this time is a bit different compared to our first EP (mini-album) because it involves other session player friends who we recorded live to get a fresher color in this single. The rest of the creative process for vocals and backing is done as usual at the Suara Kayu Bersama Keluarga Suara Kayu", said one of Suara Kayu's personnel, Ingrid Tamara, as quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 25.

Suara Kayu is known for the acoustic work created by Ingrid and Dewangga Elsandro entitled Miniatur. The song also entered Spotify's "top 50 Viral" chart.

The organic sound of the acoustic guitar and the lyrics that are uniquely packaged are their characteristics that have succeeded in attracting the attention of listeners of Miniatur songs.

With a recent work involving new people, Ingrid mentions "Kaktus" depicting the hallmark of her group.

"The point is I want to know from another person's point of view how the Suara Kayu is assessed. I happened to know Raguel Lewy, and we casually asked him to make a song for the Suara Kayu, and it turned out that he managed to make a song that sounded really Suara Kayu. He managed to see what the characteristic wooden voice looks like in songwriting”, concluded Ingrid.
