JAKARTA - Determining a setlist to be performed in a single concert is one of the problems for GIGI.

Armand Maulana (vocals) called it a natural thing for a 30-year career band.

"Not just for bands in Indonesia, but for bands outside, which have been around for decades, the difficulty is when the single show curates hundreds of songs," said Armand Maulana in Thamrin, Central Jakarta some time ago.

"And sometimes we also fight a lot because of that," continued Armand.

Dewi Gita's husband gave one example when Thomas Ramdhan (bass) asked the band to perform songs that are rarely played on stage, arguing that the song also deserves to be played to fans.

"For example, Thomas said, 'we've made this song, have we never been invited?'. Then we try to perform the song, but sometimes it doesn't work," said Armand.

In the GIGI case, Armand said that their collection of hits was also not as big as other big bands, making it difficult to determine the setlist.

"Because frankly, GIGI is not a band that has a lot of hits," he said.

According to Armand, the problem of determining the setlist will not happen if the band or musician concerned has at least 20 hits.

"Look, because in Indonesia there is a band or soloist whose hits are really a lot. So you've played 20 songs from the start, indeed 20 hits. In other words, you don't use the concept or people will sing," said Armand.

"We realize that in some songs that are normal, maybe in GigiKita who actually follows from the 90s maybe he knows, but the majority don't necessarily know," he concluded.
