JAKARTA - In the midst of the promotion period for his latest work, NewJeans has also appeared as the main line-up in seven campus festivals spread across South Korea over the past week.

ADOR, the NewJeans agency said that all the income they received from the campus festival had been donated for scholarship funds through the Korea Student Aid Foundation (KOSAF) or the Korean Student Assistance Foundation.

"We have received a lot of strength and love from appearing at seven university festivals over the past week. We want to give back the love we receive to students in need," ADOR said, citing The Korea Times, Tuesday, June 4.

The donation will later be used to support the cost of living and housing for students from low-income families.

Meanwhile, seven universities visited by NewJeans are spread across three regions, including Seoul, Gwangju, and Busan.

Minji, Hanni, Danielle and Haerin started a series of campus festivals by performing at Korea University on May 25. Then, they visited Chosun University, Dong-Eui University, Pusan National University, Dongguk University, Sejong University, and ended up at Chung-Ang University on May 31.

Throughout NewJeans' performance at seven universities, Hyein did not appear because she was still recovering from a leg injury.

Previously, Min Hee Jin as CEO of ADOR had expressed concern over the assessment of NewJeans' appearance at the campus festival. He said the decision was taken not because of money, but for other purposes.

"Some people misunderstood, thinking we made the members appear just for money or made them work hard for profit. I don't want to be misunderstood in that way," said Min Hee Jin.

This show helps members improve their skills and promote new songs, and to show our sincerity. We decided to donate their income," he continued.

"There are a lot of fans in various regions who want to see NewJeans, but we haven't been able to hold concerts yet. The festival is the only way we can reach them, so it also functions as a fan service."
