JAKARTA - The appearance of Lorjhu in the national music scene brings a new color. The Badrus Zeman trio (vocals, guitars), State Personnel (bass), and the Soetansyah Properaiden (drums) carry coastal rock music with lyrics that are mostly Madura-speaking.

Starting his musical journey since 2019, Lorjhu has released two full albums, namely Paseser (2022) and Parenduan (2023).

Behind Lorjhu's journey to become known as a national music connoisseur, Badrus started his music in a simple way. Most of the songs on the first album, originally recorded through his gadget.

"Actually, in the first album, Paseser, why use a cellphone, basically because I don't have a lot of devices. So, the device I have is only that, one of which I explore is cellphones," said Badrus when met at Pondok Labu, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 27.

Badrus admitted that the results of the recordings were not satisfactory, but what he did was to maximize what was there to keep working.

"It's simple, the important thing is that instruments (music) can connect to cellphones and can be recorded, in that simple way. And for example, overcoming noise and all kinds of things, I maximize using the existing application," said Badrus.

"So the perfect one is also not, but what is clear can be heard well. That is enough, actually," he continued.

Not only that, but the music video from Lorjhu's first album was also recorded using a cellphone. Limitation was not a problem for Badrus until it finally reaped positive results from his work.

"Yes, if the music video from our first album uses a cellphone, except for the second album. So, throughout the first album, on average, use a cellphone device. On the second album, it has started to change," concluded Badrus Zeman.

For information, Lorjhu's initial works were later discovered by several people who were under the demajors record label. Currently, Lorjhu is under the auspices of Ibu Records.
