Pongki Barata Expresses His Likes And Condolences For Choosing Independent Paths

JAKARTA - Pongki Barata has been choosing to make music on an independent path for a long time. However, he is still consistent in continuing to work, both with new songs and re-arranged songs.

After re-released Viewing the Sky Tonight, the song that was once a hit from Jikustic, which was then under the auspices of Warner Music Indonesia, Pongki talked about his decision to take an independent path.

"Voting an independent path, without the support of the record label, is not an easy decision," Pongki Barata said in an Instagram post, seen Monday, February 19.

The independent path does make a musician more free to work, but it is admitted that it is not easy to facilitate this freedom, especially regarding financing.

"One of the delicious sides is having 100 percent freedom of what to do," Pongki said.

"It's not good to be a financing problem," he added.

Reflecting on his experience when re-released Viewing the Sky Tonight, Pongki admitted that he had difficulty making music videos.

Luckily, the former Jikustik vocalist had acquaintances who were willing to help him every time he worked on a new work. In fact, music video production can run smoothly even though financing was not completely completed at the beginning.

That day I learned, God determines. Wait for the funds to come first? The momentum will disappear quickly. God will continue to provide help. We just process from what is there. Sometimes, thinking 'lugu and symple' is a way out. Because there we entrust the others to God," concluded Pongki Barata.
