Many People Create Content From Concerts And Music Festivals, No Problem As Long As No Monetization

JAKARTA - In today's digital era, many people, especially young people, make social media an inseparable part of everyday life. Content becomes their tool to actualize themselves while at the same time showing existence.

Concerts and music festivals are an interesting moment that is often content for many people. Today, people not only come to music concerts to watch, but also capture these moments and upload them.

In my opinion, people who capture moments at festivals or concerts are commonplace and become lifestyles. Because today content is king," said Dino Hamid, Chairman of the Indonesian Music Promoter Association when contacted by the media crew recently.

"So, it's been shifting in the era. What was previously appreciated, but today also in addition to appreciating musicians and their work, it was the material of this moment that became the main material for the audience who attended a festival or concert," he continued.

Nothing goes wrong when someone comes to a music concert to create content. However, it must be underlined that not all content taken during a music concert can be uploaded at will.

According to Dino, recording a concert which was then uploaded to digital platforms without permission is something that cannot be justified, especially content creators monetize and get the coffers of uploaded content money.

"The wrong thing is to keep recording shows without permission. That's just wrong," said Dino Hamid.

"Yes (an example was recorded and re-uploaded on social media accounts or monetized platforms)," he continued.

However, Dino Hamid does not deny that the content on social media is very much needed for the development of music concerts, as well as content creators who are helped to create interesting content.

The world of concerts and festivals is growing. Because back again, in this era of digitalization, content is really needed, it must be updated," he said.
