Cryptopsy Unggungli Metallica As First International Metal Band To Hold Concert In Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - Some time ago, Metallica was called the first international metal band to hold a concert in Saudi Arabia.

In fact, the news made headlines in several media.

Adapun Metallica akan tampil di Riyadh, Ibu Kota Arab Saudi pada 14 Desember mendatang.

However, the title of the first metal band to appear in Saudi Arabia did not appear to belong to Metallica.

The reason is, Cryptopsy performed at Syrup Stage on December 2. The Canadian metal band has announced their 2023 Ashes Shall Religion Asia Tour since November 15.

Cryptopsy said they were happy to be able to call themselves the first international metal band to play in Saudi Arabia.

It is extraordinary that even after 30 years of being a band, we can still feel something new and interesting. It is a true honor to be the first international metal band to appear in Saudi Arabia. Our experience here is extraordinary and unforgettable," said Cryptopsy, launching Metal Sicks, Sunday, December 10.

Gigi Arabia as CEO of Heavy Arabia Entertainment said Cryptopsy performances were the culmination of years of hard work in trying to bring foreign metal bands to play in Saudi Arabia.

"We are very proud to be a pioneer in Saudi Arabia's first international metal band organization, and we feel very honored to have Cryptopsy, along with Creative Waste, which marks an important milestone in the history of the Saudi metal world," Gigi Arabia said.

Most importantly, our greatest personal achievement is to provide a platform for our local metal band to share the stage with idols and their great influence here. Each of our bands has played an integral role as participants, co-creators, and supporters in realizing our collective vision to strengthen Saudi Arabia on the global metal music map," he concluded.
