Iwan Fals Will Release A New Album From Syair Sawung Jabo

JAKARTA - Iwan Fals revealed that a new album is the closest project to work on. This was revealed when he was a guest on Vindes' YouTube channel.

In the midst of the schedule for the Gaung Merah tour that is being undertaken, the singer of the Sore Pancoran Monument received questions from Vincent Rompies regarding his music project in the future.

"Next project, what else will an Iwan Fals make, will there be another breakthrough or megaconser or whatever it is with the Red Gaung?" asked Vincent Rompies, launching Vindes YouTube, Thursday, December 7.

"Yes, that's the intention, it doesn't stop at 10, (the Red Gaungtur) wants to continue, because I live there," replied Iwan Fals.

Then, the man whose real name is Virgiawan Listanto called the album a music project that he will issue in the near future.

The upcoming album looks interesting to wait for, because the songs that Iwan Fals worked on come from old lyrics from Sawung Jabo that have never been converted into musical works.

In its cultivation, Iwan Fals collaborated with Oni Krisnerwinto in making music for the lyrics of Sawung Jabo.

"In the near future, I want to make an album. I want to sing Jabo's syaris," said Iwan Fals.

"So, Jabo made a poem and I was attracted to the lyrics, especially the current atmosphere, I think the Jabo lyrics are suitable. I made a song for the lyrics, I gave it to Oni to make the music, then it became an album," he continued.

Iwan Fals plans to release the album before 2023 ends.

"Hopefully this December (is over)," he concluded.

For information, Iwan Fals has been working with Sawung Jabo for a long time. The two of them were in the same group in Swami and Kantata Takwa.

The collaboration between the two great Indonesian artists gave birth to many famous songs, including Bento, Bongkar, Embankment, Hio, and Song Jiwa.
