JAKARTA - In a new interview with Troy Patrick Farrell of the weekly radio live show "This That And The Other", vocalist of Mr. Big, Eric Martin spoke about the latest ongoing world tour, entitled "The BIG Finish". He also revealed about his band's new album.

Since the original drummer and co-founder of the band, Pat Torpey, lost his fight against Parkinson's disease in 2018, Mr. Big felt it was time to mark the end of their legacy.

The first legs began in Japan and Southeast Asia in July and August, where the band appeared in front of hundreds of thousands of loyal fans at 11 Shows sold out including Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.

Now, Mr. Big is ready to bring "The BIG Finish" to the US. The first batch of shows across America will start January 12, 2024 in Houston, Texas at Rise Rooftop.

Join Mr. Big on the drums for this last special world tour is their old friend, Nick D'Virgilio (Spick'sard, Big Big Train), replacing Torpey.

Asked why he and his bandmates felt now was the right time to stop Mr. Big officially said Eric.

"Yes, I really don't want to end it. I thought we were going to finish. I'm just going to leave the door open forever. I don't want to end anything forever. I hate the end of everything, but Pat Torpey is gone. And it's like removing the wind from the screen. He's the band's anchor," Eric opened.

"Nick D'Virgilio is a great substitute. He's a phenomenal drummer. He sings like Pat. Nick is great. But everyone has a lot of other projects. I don't. I really like Mr. Big projects... I have had some difficult projects. But, yes, it's all over. For me, it's a bit sad. But it's time. It's been 35 years, guys."

Regarding the possibility of Mr. Big made a new album as a follow-up to 2017's Defying Gravity, Eric revealed that they were working on it.

"Paul [Gilbert, guitarist Mr. Big] and I I've been going back and forth to Portland, Oregon, where Paul lives, and we've written and recorded everything. And so far, I want to say, [we have] 10, 13 songs," Eric explained.

"And Billy [Sheehan, bassist Mr. Big] has one song. And Nick we said, 'Hey, Nick, if you have a song, guys, just leave it to us.' And he has four pretty good songs."
